ACI World works with governments, regional ACI members, experts, and international organizations like ICAO to develop policies, programs, and best practices that advance airport standards globally.<\/p>\n<h3>Objectives:<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Promote industry excellence by providing members with innovative tools and expertise<\/li>\n<li>Support the capacity of airports to provide safe, secure air transportation<\/li>\n<li>Represent the interests of airports to international and national policymakers<\/li>\n<li>Foster collaboration between airports, governments, industry stakeholders, and international organizations<\/li>\n<li>Maximize cooperation and assistance between airports<\/li>\n<li>Increase public awareness of the social and economic importance of airports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Structure<\/h3>\n<p>As of January 2022, ACI serves 717 members, operating 1950 airports in 185 countries. In 2020, close to 55% of all employment in the aviation sector was at airports and, according to ACI\u2019s Annual World Airport Traffic Report, airports worldwide welcomed 3.6 billion arriving and departing passengers, handled 108.5 million metric tonnes of cargo and 61.8 million aircraft movements in 2020.<\/p>\n<h3>ACI Regions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Who We Are\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aci-na.org\/\">ACI-North America (Washington)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aci-europe.org\/\">ACI-Europe (Brussels)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aci-asiapac.aero\/\">ACI-Asia-Pacific (Hong Kong)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aci-africa.aero\/\">ACI-Africa (Casablanca)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aci-lac.aero\/\">ACI-Latin America\/Caribbean (Panama City)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]ACI has five geographical regions. To better serve this structure and its work with ICAO, ACI moved its headquarters to Montr\u00e9al. To pursue the work with regional governmental and non-governmental organizations they are supported by specialized committees and task forces.<\/p>\n<h3>International Organizations<\/h3>\n<p>ACI is the \u201cvoice of the world&#8217;s airports\u201d in interacting with world bodies and advocate for the global airports industry before the media and opinion leaders. International partner organizations include the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other specialized UN organizations such as the World Health Organization and the UN Institute for Training and Research.
